Hello,I'd like to tell you a little about myself.....
I've been cooking professionally for over 30 years; at the DeWelden Estate in Newport, Rhode Island, sailing vessels in the Virgin Islands, Fat Jack's Cafe in N.S.W. Australia, the Hilton Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Diamonds Edge Restaurant in Casco Bay, and the Commercial Street Pub in Portland. I've worked in restaurants from Presque Isle, Maine to Key West, Florida. For the past several years I've also been employed as a nanny. It's the best job you could have, you go to work and get hugs! Everybody needs a Mary Poppins! At the present, besides running my farm and business I work part time as a nanny for a wonderful family in Yarmouth. So how did it all get started?..... After catering several wedding receptions for friends and family, it was suggested I do it as a "real job". And so began Tasty Dimensions back in 1983. Since then, I moved the business from Portland to Auburn, Maine. I also changed the name of my business to Mount Apatite Farm. Many of my friends assumed I named this farm, but it was given it's name at the time it was built in 1878. It's named after the Mount Apatite Mines which are near here. Apatite is a Maine mineral. I have found my gem! Here, there is the most beautiful sunset, room for a big organic garden and a wonderful country kitchen. Mount Apatite Farm is on the Hatch Road in Auburn. There are 24 acres here bordered by 325 acres that the city of Auburn owns which is Mount Apatite Park The white tailed deer are usually around at sunset, there's a flock of wild turkeys in the neighborhood; and there's always a visiting skunk, porcupine or woodchuck! Mount Apatite Farm is open to the public, you just need to call and make arrangements if you would like to come for a visit. I have also opened my land for mining clubs to come and mine. I run my catering and food delivery business here in my licensed kitchen where I can cook to my heart's content on my big garland stove. My gardens are right out my door so I can pick fresh herbs, edible flowers and vegetable when in season. You'll either find me in the kitchen or the garden! My goal is to feed the world but in the mean time I will provide you with excellent food and service. Life can be decadent! adios'
